We could all use a dose of chill-out, feel-it-seep-in-and-soothe music right now, and London’s Archivist is a band here to help with their new single “Same High”. Washes of sound rise and fall on the track, supplemented by shining synths and an electric beat. The track offers a soft and positive atmosphere and clean, well-crafted production. Let the smooth falsetto roll over you and take a moment to breathe.
The band is made up of singer and pianist Ed Begley, bassist Tom Mason, — who has performed with Questlove and Ghostpoet in the past — drummer Peter Ibbetson, and guitarist Rory Simmons who has notably played live with Blur and Bat For Lashes. The dream team found a unity in sound and, to the delight of listeners everywhere, created Archivist.
The electronic four-piece have released “Same High” as a taste of their second EP, entitled Memo, which follows the already acclaimed self-titled EP, Archivist, which you can find here. Memo is set to be released before the end of the year.
