Belle and Sebastian – “Paper Boat” (Previously Unreleased)

We’re not talking a recent unrelease. “Paper Boat” comes out of The Boy With the Arab Strap days. That’s right, back in ’98 when the band was right in the swing of things, and yet still carving out a name for themselves.

It’s a slow, folky, and optimistic track, and since its creation, there have been substantial line-up changes to the Scottish indie pop group. The video reflects this throwback by featuring Isobel Campbell (a former member) and Stuart Murdoch (a current member) having a pleasant vacation in 1998 on scratched up filmstrip. The unity is simply wonderful. The video was released by former member Stuart David, now of Looper, who also wrote the track.

The cheery little tune is just about perfect for those looking for a relaxing Friday night in. Belle and Sebastian‘s ninth album Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance was released on the 19th of January, 2015. Keep up with Belle and Sebastian as they continue making music history on their website.
