Melbourne shoegazers Bloodhounds On My Trail made a name for themselves with the release of their debut EP, Escape II, and are now back with a first offering from their upcoming EP. The track, titled “Over The Wall” is a blissed out exercise in storytelling. The lyrics describe the struggle of a prisoner who knows he must escape, be it through literal escape, or escape through death. Sonic layers create the dark tension within the song, but a pop quality makes for catchy guitar hooks and melodic sprawl.

The band, made up of Johnny Green (guitar, vocals), Chris Donaldson (guitar), Nik Donaldson (drums) and Ché Walden (bass), are in the perfect position to experiment with genre and songwriting style, and “Over The Wall” suggests a very exciting sophomore EP.

Bloodhounds On My Trail will be releasing “Over The Wall”  through Moon Sounds Records on September 16th. To keep up with the band until then, check out their Facebook page, Bandcamp, or follow them on Twitter.
