It’s hard to know where to start with Broncho’s latest clip for their track “Big City Boys”. The band has toured with Queens of the Stone Age and are no strangers to high energy — but this video pulls at the frays of big energy until it unravels in showy parties that leave you with a full-on brawl.
The track itself mixes smooth falsetto tones with sticky plucked rhythms. Driven by a bass line that keeps the bounce and vocals that have an MGMT slickness, you’ll have a hard time getting this one out of your head.
The accompanying music video was shot on an iPhone and features drinking, dancing, car-racing, and a turf-war. It’s an all-female Grease on uppers; it’s gorgeous at every moment. The Director’s Cut version breaks the song open for a climactic moment of quiet before the 50s styled prep squad arrives to stir up some stakes and bring the beat back. Literally.
“Big City Boys” comes off Broncho’s third full-length record, Bad Behaviour, which was released in October of 2018. To hear more from Broncho you can find them on their website, BandCamp, and Facebook page. You can also follow them on Twitter.
