South Jersey artist Dre Carter has made quite a name for himself in his hometown and aims to take things to a new level this Summer. A 3x Best Tri-State Artist nominee at the Philly Hip-Hop Awards, Dre Carter gained a lot of traction from his most recent, and fourth solo tape, Perception. Influenced by the sounds of J.Cole and Kendrick Lamar, to name a few, Dre Carter makes his way to the New Sick Music pages to premiere a refreshing new track titled “Yippie.” Dre delivers a bouncy, fast-paced chorus and definitely shows up lyrically on this jazzy, D-Bomani-produced single.
“The song Yippie tells a story of the weekend I went to the S.I.N Awards in NYC and J.Cole’s Forrest Hill Drive listening session,” Dre stated.
At 21-years-old, Dre Carter is quite accomplished and plans to go “all the way up.” Check out “Yippie” above, and be sure to give the Jersey native a follow on Twitter.
