If you aren’t familiar with Trapo yet, listen up. The rising Wisconsin rapper garnered attention last month with the release of his debut project The Black Beverly Hills EP, but, nonetheless, only has a few songs on his SoundCloud page. The tracks that are out, however, position Trapo for a high-profile spot in the industry. His creative sound merges raw singing with fast rhymes and his eclectic songs are consistently out of the box. At only 17, Trapo seems poised to earn a name for himself sooner rather than later.
On Trapo’s latest release, titled “WHOA Freestyle (Rough),” he raps over a mellow beat with the ease of an artist far beyond his years. His gritty lyrics are balanced by his Goldlink-style singing at the end. Give it a listen, and be sure to keep your ears peeled for more from Trapo in the near future.
