If you watch television as compulsively as I do, you might be surprised to know that Iwan Rheon — the actor known for playing The Bastard of Bolton in Game of Thrones and Simon Bellamy in Misfits — is also a singer-songwriter.

Don’t let the brutal characters he’s known for playing fool you (even if there was a little of Joy Division’s Ian Curtis in Simon Bellamy), his music tends to be on the folkier side, with the occasional pop influence. There is pure emotion in these tracks. His debut album — titled Dinard and due to be released April 20th, 2015 — follows three EPs. The personal nature of this album is heightened by both his collaboration with his brother and the promised lyrics in his native Welsh.

If you need more incentive to give Rheon a listen, know that he claims to be influenced by the likes of Radiohead, Oasis, Manic Street Preachers and Blur, though with a clear folky twist.

Give the first single of the album, “Feel it Coming” a listen here!
