California-based duo HEЯITAGE are hitting Santee Street in Los Angeles and bringing all they’ve got in the new clip for their cover of Damian Marley’s “Speak Life”. Quick cuts bring a visual representation of the rhythm and we are given a glimpse of the recording process of this hyper-smooth, soul-filled track.
There is plenty of mood here. Hannah Eggen and Gianluca Gibbons both provide vocals, and each get a chance to shine on their instrument of choice. Eggen’s guitar solo seems to carry the ability to stop time, while Gibbons’s saxophone spotlight brings a sense of mystery to their unique brand of R&B. You walk away from this song feeling as though you, too, could take on the city.
Speaking of the city: the clip for the track shows HEЯITAGE as they strut through the fashion district of LA like they own it. Greeting those they pass and checking in with a vendor who sells “shoes for youth and coats for kids” — they exude both warmth and confidence. It suits the song perfectly.
