With electronic hooks and a melody that lingers, “Let the Robots Drive” is a trip. A road trip. A sonic journey. Maybe even something of a more psychedelic nature (get a load of the colourful clip). Heartour slides texture into ambiance and finds a crunchy slowness in this latest track.
Heartour is the project of Jason Young, who also plays as the drummer of Los Angeles indie rock band The Ruse. Having traveled the world in support of Muse, Jason Young has experienced enough to create five records of sonic exploration under the Heartour name. R U IN is his latest and, like “Let the Robots Drive”, is brimming with potential energy.
Vocal-forward with enough ambiance to fuel the transition to summer, the melody resonates with smooth warmth. Accompanying these slick sounds is a video that uses minimal lines to build a world. Bright colours take us from Earth to beyond with robots, aptly, behind the wheel.
R U IN was released on May 22nd 2020. To hear more from Heartour, you can find the project on Facebook, SoundCloud, and on the Heartour website. You can also follow on Twitter for more music and news.[upme view=compact id=10]
