HUNNY, in the middle of their supporting position on #FLOOD2015 tour, have released their first studio EP, Pain/Ache/Loving. The quintuplet of new songs follows the formula set forth by indie pop stars The 1975 and smaller acts like tour mates Bad Suns. The diverse EP starts off with their first Soundcloud release, “Cry For Me,” a smoky, post-punk rock piece with a catchy SoCal influenced chorus. “La Belle Femme” is the most approachable track with a catchy hook layered throughout the song. “Parking Lot” is a lust-infused, guitar-centered piece. I’ll leave “July” and “Natalie” up for your verdicts. The EP honors its name with songs about each of those heavy topics subjected to their rock alternative vibes. The collection is a great example of a band hitting it on all cylinders with their first substantial release.
There’s a chance HUNNY will be touring near you, check their upcoming dates on Twitter. Four of the five songs can be streamed right here on Soundcloud, but a physical version is available for pick-up from Bandcamp.
