If you haven’t heard of the mysterious electronic producing project Josh Pan, supposedly a group comprised of 20 members based out of NYC, it’s time to keep them on your music horizon because this is a promising music group/label/collective worth keeping up with.
Their newest original, “one thing,” is a remix of a track by Amerie in 2005. Just released four days ago, this song caught my attention while scrolling through my SoundCloud feed from its future and hip-hop undertones with Amerie’s vocal samples guiding the song. When the song begins, you’ll immediately be brought back to the early millennium R&B, but hit with a side of future bass.
Josh Pan (not a person!) is constantly putting out new quality material faster than I can keep up; electronically hip-hop and R&B influenced beats. Along with their hard beats, Josh Pan has a separate section on its website for art juxtaposing the culture and concepts that they represent. Thirteen of the artists, according to SoundCloud, are @cavalierbeats, @dirtychocolate, @flamingosis, @harrison_music, @jaiwolf, @lucalush, @madeaux, @manilakilla, @polo, @whispawave, @whoispham, @y2k2y and @yungbae. (Slide through their SCs too–they have cool art & music).
I honestly can’t stop listening to this new single. But it doesn’t start or stop with this song. Josh Pan has an impressive arsenal of remixes and beats that you should definitely follow to continue feeding your musical and creative needs.
