If you’re a Tyler The Creator fan you’ll probably have heard of Kali Uchis. After collaborating on track “Aunt Wang Syrup Theme Song“, along with a few features on Cherry Bomb, Tyler produced a number of songs on her breakthrough EP Por Vida (which can be downloaded for free here), which was released a couple months back.
Today we get the video for “Rush”, one of the standout tracks from Por Vida. Adopting a vintage, 70’s style setting, the Colombian born, now L.A based singer enchants us with the glamorous new visuals. Featuring Kali in a pair of rollerskates and some very short shorts, this is a video and song which will get you hyped for the summer.
Speaking of the video, Kali said:
“I WAS INSPIRED BY QUENTIN TARANTINO, FREEDOM, REVOLUTION, EUPHORIA, NATURE, UNITY. MY HOPE IS THAT WHILE WATCHING THIS VIDEO YOU WILL FIND A MOMENT OF PEACE IN THIS WORLD FULL OF IMAGES OF VIOLENCE AND INJUSTICE.”
Whether you’re in it for the soulful vibes of the music, or whether we had your attention at ‘short shorts’, watch Kali Uchis’ fantastic video for “Rush” above.
