Maryland femcee, Kelow is back with her first project in three years, entitled Amethyst Stoner. It’s an ear-catching blend of hip-hop and go-go music, which marries with Kelow’s gentle, yet recognizable voice and lyrics well. Amethyst is actually her birthstone, which she found an inexplicable connection to, and really holds a deeper meaning with this project, which she explains on the first track.

Kelow states in the Souncloud caption:

“I took foot on a journey I didn’t intend to Forsee before
I created this master piece “Amethyst Stoner ”
it’s my birthstone I found interest
without depth and traveled deeper within myself
sacrificing qualities
I thought would last forever
but nothing does and I’m ok with that
Releasing attachments I recognized
my health mental spirit discernment
approach to deliver in communicate
needed growth”
Utilizing auto-tune and various effects, Kelow is well on her way, if not already, to mastering her own unorthodox style, which has created a lot of attention since her comeback. A majority of the songs on the 7-track EP are split in two parts. “Kitty Litter,” one of my personal favorites, is arguably the most witty trap cuts to release this year. With Amethyst Stoner, Kelow also shared the official music video for project’s median track, “Jigglypuff,” which was directed by Xaivia Inniss of 8th Creation Films. Keep up to date with Kelow on Twitter and check out her project above/music video below!
