It’s no secret that Max Wonders doesn’t like adulthood as much as he thought he would. His single “Grow Up” had a pretty clear message: the burgeoning artist does not want to become an adult. This theme carries over on “Kid Again,” the third release from his forthcoming album Hues To Blame. Although pained nostalgia has long been a theme in hip-hop, Wonders’ perspective is uniquely wistful. His grainy voice rings with emotion as he reflects on the simplicity of childhood. At one point, he remembers how “nothing really mattered” with an attitude of hard resignation that any adult can relate to. Wonders succeeds at presenting himself as both genuine and talented with this single. Check it out above.
