He’s only got three current singles to his name, and 540 followers on Soundcloud (at the time of writing) but Milwaukee emcee Mic Kellogg has already impressed journos enough to have a track premiered exclusively on Pigeons and Planes. This week, the melodic rapper dropped something darker than his previous releases “Moon N’ Back” and “Breakfast (Intro), with the impressively self-produced “Tune Out”. The track focuses on the mortality of a family member, and the awkward pains of growing up, employing appropriately atmospheric backing vocals from Siren and Bobby Knapp.
Speaking to P & P, Kellogg said of the new track:
“Sometimes you just gotta throw on your headphones, turn your shit up to the max, and walk around your city thinking, ‘fuck everybody […] That was basically my high school experience. That’s ‘Tune Out.’”
We absolutely love the track at NSM, and fully expect Mic Kellogg to make some waves this summer!
