Mountain Soundsystems is blooming in the Seattle electronic music scene and jams like “ORMUS” prove why.
The song is built on layers of sound that create a noisy sense of texture and spaciousness. After a playfully tumultuous intro, sci-fi synths open the song into something that tilts at a melody. The grounding force here is the percussion, which steadies the track and lends a sense of danceability to the innovative dubstep.
The twist comes with the drop, which builds and falls as uniquely as the rest of the song. Expect noisy, chaotic bliss. “ORMUS” is building upon 90s electronica for something that pulses with futuristic pace. One part dreamscape, three parts hyperspace.
