My Silent Bravery — the moniker under which Matthew Wade releases his musical creations — is back at it again, and as usual, expectations are futile.
Proving to be one of the most versatile artists in the game, My Silent Bravery comes at us this time with a clip for his track “Holding Out”. The tune blends his talents for catchy hooks with smooth verses provided by Nashville’s Maurico. The rap flows around Wade’s choruses, keeping mostly minimal until electric guitars and piano ascend to create a full soundscape.
The accompanying video is no less powerful, nor is it less surprising. Beginning with the powerful imagery of a boxer warming up for a fight and facing the images and obstacles of his past, the clip finds power by looking inwards. But, entranced by the hooks of My Silent Bravery, his warmup turns to a dance routine with an unexpected new friend. The future looks bright, even if the past holds anxiety.
