OK Mayday find beauty and joy in the small moments in their clip for lush track “Blossoms”

As we continue in what is quickly becoming the new normal, musicians are creatively reflecting our times. For OK MAYDAY, this means celebrating the fact that life goes on in the video for their track “Blossoms”.

The song itself is a lush love song with notes of freedom held delicately and a summer chill to the layers of vocals. It’s catchy and mellow and warm — a summer song fuelled by poetic moments. “Barely notice what surrounds us,” David Bollmann sings. “In this orbit / I am going to be learning you.”

But it’s in the repetition of “we’ve all got time to lose” that the song matches the accompanying clip. The video is a compilation of people from all over sharing their everyday. Essential workers, happy pups, families enjoying a meal, and a through-thread of dancers bring joy. Interspersed between the clips is a Zoom quartered screen of the band in their own spaces. Just as with the other images, this is a lovely presentation of life elsewhere.

To hear more from OK MAYDAY, you can find them on their website, SoundCloud, and Facebook page. You can also follow the band on Twitter for more music and news.
