Manhattan singer/songwriter Qui just released her first release, entitled “Crush On You.” Qui pays homage to a handful of New York legends throughout this release. She begins her verse off with Big Pun’s “I’m not a playa, I just crush a lot,” and snags a snippet of Notorious B.I.G’s chorus on Lil Kim’s Hard Core single, “Crush On You.” Though Qui’s debut offering will not appear on any forthcoming body of work, it certainly is an impressive introduction to the songstress.

Qui on what made her write “Crush On You”:

“I wrote this song because I had an actual crush on someone that I saw in a YouTube web series! I figured the only way to approach this person and not seem like the rest is to do what I do best and write a song. Eventually it didn’t work out, but I got a pretty dope song out of it.”

“Crush On You” is genuine and soothing, as Qui sings about her persistence to get close to that special someone. Be sure to follow Qui on Twitter, and stay tuned for more releases from her.
