Low-key producer rage logic has churned out an impressive number of tracks over the last few days. After an seven month hiatus, the eclectic artist released four new songs on SoundCloud. The tunes cannot be confined to one genre: there are elements of hip-hop, trap and future bass in most of the songs. This spurt of music is a promising sign that more new stuff (perhaps even a project?) is in the works.
rage logic’s most recent release, “yeee,” is a fresh twist on a hip-hop classic. The producer has redone Jay-Z’s “Dirt Off My Shoulder” with plenty of drums, a future beat and creative electronic sounds. Here, rage logic sped up the song to match the fast BPM found in trap music. It is a beautiful example of the way that hip-hop and electronic–if done right–can come together to form a creative, upbeat track. Give it a listen above.
