Rare – “Babe”

There’s a bit in this wonderfully wordless track that reminds me of a beatboxer I know. Total Babe. He’s off to Toronto, which is just up the road from the dude that made this fittingly titled track. Hailing from Mississauga, Canada, rare makes deliciously dark trap beats that don’t need words to hit you right in the feels… his shit transcends language, man. Anywho, the beat is mostly creepy in a good way, and on par with the creep factor of win32, a previously reviewed beatmaker who accompanies rare in the producer collective NUMERALS. Hashtagged ‘futurewave’, Babe is an epic example of Canadian creativity wrapped up in three and a half minutes of solid, unspoken, bass-ridden emotion.

Go tell rare it’s all okay by clicking his little heart buttons on Soundcloud. And make sure you listen to NUMERALS’ latest 21-track EP, which features another rare ditty.
