4-time Grammy award winner Sam Smith has joined forces with R&B legend (pun intended) John Legend to re-record the lead single off Smith’s debut album In The Lonely Hour , Lay Me Down. This hauntingly beautiful track has been remastered for the British Charity, Comic Relief and their Red Nose Day event which happens every other year.
Red Nose Day is a telathon event in the United Kingdom that’s designed to use comedy to help spread awareness of the different issues and problems that affect the daily lives of many. Their goal is to help put a stop to “poverty and social injustice”. (Find out more about what Red Nose Day is all about at http://www.rednoseday.com/what-we-do )
Although Red Nose Day isn’t until this Friday, the charity single is available for purchase here. All profits will go towards Comic Relief as both Smith and Legend are doing without royalties.
Check out the video above to listen to the single and if you like what you hear I encourage you to support this great cause by making the purchase. Every dollar makes a difference.
