North Carolina native Terry Ozi, the leading member of The Rebels recently released his self-reflective debut EP, “Tales of Ozi.“
Terry has been fairly quiet since the release of the project’s lead single back in July of 2015, rightfully deciding to take his time to craft the nine- track body of work over the past several months as to ensure that his formal introduction to music lovers and hip-hop heads alike allows for the best possible first impression.
The final product certainly does not disappoint as the project offers listeners a glimpse into the life and mind of Terry Ozi. He carefully depicts his eventful upbringing and shares his artistic vision in a purposely non-cohesive fashion as to coincide with life’s constantly presented and ever changing blessings, obstacles and experiences.
T.O. displays great poise and cadence on the mic, with solid bar structure and versatile rhyme schemes over a variety of diverse sonic foundations. Stand out tracks like Black Power, Coolin’, Heavy Liftin’ and Don’t Trip among others really solidify the project as a strong debut and highlight Terry’s potential as an emerging artist.
