Yes, they’re back. Not only did The Replacements just kick off their first US tour since they reunited in 2013, but we now know (and have proof) that the Minneapolis group are recording new material.
New track, “Whole Food Blues” is funny and snazzy. A postmodernish parody of modern living with a bite. It’s a fascinating way to begin releasing the new songs that the band has been developing, but that’s The Replacements for you. The band has been playing the song on their tour, and a recorded video is now available (through Consequence of Sound).
New material isn’t the only surprise the band has coming. There’s talk of a documentary and another secret project to be announced later this year. Check out “Whole Food Blues” above, and keep up with The Replacements and their big reveals on their website and Facebook page.
