The Tallest Man On Earth – “Dark Bird Is Home”

Swedish singer-songwriter Kristian Matsson, or as he is better known The Tallest Man On Earth, has today released title track “Dark Bird Is Home” from his upcoming album. Following lead single “Sagres” (which we got a preview of last month), Matsson has today released a second song from the album via Soundcloud. The upcoming LP (which shares its name with the new track) is set for release on May 12th via Dead Oceans.

With “Sagres” we heard a much fuller sound from Kristian, incorporating the layering of claps, floating strings and percussion to present a more energetic orchestral production. “Dark Bird Is Home” brings him back down to earth and his older style, with a simple and alluring conversational build up of voice and guitar that finally breaks into a satisfying drum beat at around the 3:20 mark.

The Tallest Man On Earth has also just added more dates to his full-band tour, the details of which can be found below, including alternating dates where he will be joined respectively by Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear, Hiss Golden Messenger and Phil Cook:
