Abel Tesfaye first debuted the song at Coachella and the visuals could very well have been released in response to the recent leaks. The Weeknd has definitely switched up his style (or as some might prefer, “evolved”) since bursting onto the scene, but it cannot be argued that the artist has consistently been one of the best atmosphere-creators in the game, always putting out quality material. “The Hills” is definitely reminiscent of his Trilogy days and it will be interesting to see if this makes the cut in his follow-up to Kiss Land.
