Jay Z‘s Tidal Streaming Service is set to launch today at 5:00 pm EST. After being purchased by Hova, the “high fidelity music streaming service” is being re-launched today and is backed by a plethora of artists that includes the likes of Kanye West, Beyonce, Chris Martin, Jack White, Rihanna, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, and Jason Aldean. Look at any high profile artist’s twitter page today, and you’re likely to see tweets like these:

Tidal figures to be major competition for Spotify and is being offered for a monthly subscription fee of $19.99. The service has deals with all the major record labels and some artists, including Taylor Swift, have already removed their catalogues from Spotify and instead, made them available on Tidal.
