In their debut music video, Tiny Fighter used a 360 degree camera to encapsulate the world and ran footage along their catchy indie-pop track “New Century”. In their new clip for “Want Friends”, the six piece group bring an edgier — and aptly more personal — take, cementing their status as visionaries with a knack for range.
“Want Friends” is driven by a heady bass groove that keeps the track propulsive. Therese Karlsson doesn’t hold back either: she can jump between high dreaminess and a rumbling accosting when she sings, nothing short of a powerhouse. The video compliments the tone by showing Karlsson address the song right into the camera. Escape is futile as she asks, “Are you an angel?”.
As the video continues, the camera pulls back to show the band performing on a stage with dancers filling in behind them, creating a sense of the off-kilter, a sense of mystery. This is only emphasized when the dancers continue after the music stops, leaving Karlsson — and the viewer — once again allied.
