Dark, warm, and almost hallucinogenic, this ambient track from Sydney electronic duo Twin Caverns comes straight from the top of their upcoming EP, Glass Balloon, which will be released on April 8th, 2015.
On Twitter, Twin Caverns describe themselves as “electronic trip hop nostalgia,” and it’s that last important word that sticks while listening to “Pyramid”. Perhaps it’s the longing paired with a clarity of understanding that only retrospection can create. Whatever it is, the resonance hits home.
The song, “Pyramid”, was the first that the duo wrote together, back in 2013. Like all good art, the song has morphed and shifted into many different forms before settling on what you hear today. Typical of Twin Caverns is the nearly chilling blend of guitar and electronic beats, courtesy of Michael Macias. Louise Millar adds those striking vocals to complete the unique sound.
