Witt Lowry has delivered a prime example of matching a compelling track with an equally compelling video. It’s near-impossible to stop watching and listening to the powerfully emotional music video for “Move On”, which was directed by Mike Squires, while the track was produced by Dan Haynes.
The video takes place entirely in a hotel room, with jumps in time perfectly matched to the flow of rhythm. The highlight of the track comes from the delivery and poetry in the lyrics, but is stunningly underscored by a dreamy synth and vocal sample.
The heart of the matter is the disintegration of a relationship. Refreshingly, the song and video give both sides of the story, with both sides taking fault and pushing blame in equal measures in what amounts to an honest and relatable representation of the trials of relationships in contrast with career goals.
