Sometimes a good reach into the experimental is all you need to rejuvenate yourself. WooliebuGGer‘s “Constant Evolution” is a perfect example of this. At nearly 13 minutes long, the track is a story within the notes of electronica. Synths dance and twirl against each other as a complex beat comes and goes, and it’s difficult to unlink your brain from the sometimes-chaos, sometimes hypnotic tilt of the music.
Eric Holub has devoted his life to communicating through music — having begun at the age of 14, the musician has watched musical eras come and go while developing his own ambient minimalist blend of sounds.
Where the first part of “Constant Evolution” falls into a glitch-like synth pattern that is easy to become lost in, the second part of the track has a more droning base with a crackling beat. Here, variation arises more from levels than from changes in complex patterns. It’s an interesting dichotomy on a two-part instrumental track. You can hear the expertise in the subtle shifts.
