Jerod McBrayer wanted a break from his heavy punk endeavours and, inspired by the sounds of pop-punk legends Blink-182 and Jimmy Eat World, created a project that takes punk sensibilities and blends them with strong hooks and a feel for melody. Growing into a three-piece project with the ability to create an abundance of sound, Worth Taking is leaving a mark on the San Francisco rock scene.
“Am I the Only One” is a standalone track that asks us to look around ourselves as the song’s narrator realizes that the world is changing rapidly around (and inside of) him. It’s the kind of dubious self-reflection we all encounter now and again. The accompanying clip was shot overseas — a blur of movement and light that fits with the band’s high-energy guitar-rocking sound.
