Similar to Atlanta’s Russ, Yury takes pride in being a one-stop shop, and doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. From co-headlining Webster Hall to selling out Knitting Factory, and producing for Grammy winning artists, Yury is gradually creating a name for himself.
After sharing the introspective “Life Is.“, Yury returns and switches things up with a lyrical track titled, “Acetate.”
“I heard this warped recording that was done on a tape recorder by this obscure musician from Toronto. This is the only known recording by him. There was no bpm and it was super rough and raw. I started with that and created everything from a vibe more so than a story,” Yury shares with us.
With this new offering, Yury steps away from trap and instead, serves up poignant wordplay over atmospheric production.
